RE: Increasing shower flow?

One other cheap and easy thing you can do to increase you water volume is double up on water regulators at your water hydrant. Regular RV pressure regulators are very restrictive. I/E Low water flow. Use a common hose "Y" Put a regulator on both sides. Then find one of those little Y hoses that are made for mixing hot and cold water from two hose bibs, hooking them both into one garden hose. I hope this is clear enough to understand. I'll try another description. From hydrant. Y the flow apart through a regulator on both legs. Then y it back into one hose. When you have tow regulators hooked parallel you have the same pressure protection and twice the flow. It really helps in the shower. Pretty cheap too. MoTerry

RE: Winterizing Hot Water Heater

Leave the plug in the heater. All you have to do is put some air pressure on the end of your shower hose with the tub faucet opened on the hot side. Then open the faucet in the kitchen sink on the cold side. Then blow the water out of your heater through the cold side of your kitchen sink. It only takes a minute. The reason this works is because the cold water is hooked to the bottom of the heater and the hot water is hooked to the top of the heater. Therefore blow into the hot side and water comes out the cold side. MoTerry

RE: Converting to TT to save on fuel costs?

Pulling a 5th wheel is more economical that pulling a TT even if it is quite a bit smaller We switched from a 30 ft TT to a 36 ft 5th wheel. The TT had one slide and the 5th wheel has two. It is about a ton heavier and 1.5 feet taller. Our fuel economy went up almost 2 MPG. You can tell the 5th wheel is heavier in the hills but it rolls so much easier on the flat. I think it is because the 5ver is over the bed and cuts down on the wind drag alot. A neighbor told me I would gain some Mpg if I put a topper on the pickup in front of the TT. The TV is a 2005 Ford 6.0 powerstroke. MoTerry

RE: Is 10% ethanol ok for gensets?

In MO the ethenol requirement doesn't include premium grade gas. 91 octane and higher. That doesn't mean they can't mix it in but it is not required to be there. My lawn mower dealer told me to get 93 octane BP gas to mix with oil for my string trimmer. He says ethenol can make the oil settle out of the mix. Don't know for sure but that is what I have been told. MoTerry

RE: Camper Key's

Ben there done that. Our trailer door locks have an 800 phone number on the inside of the latch. I had to take the latch assembly out of the door to find it. It is a two minute job. Worked for 2 months trying to find keys and get keys made. Once I made that phone call I had the keys I wanted in the mail in about a week. The only information they needed was the key number , my mailing address and a credit card #. They were less than 2 dollars each. If you have the key numbers you shouldn't have any trouble. Good luck. MoTerry

RE: More Ethanol Fuel for the Fire

Just a little information for you to think about. 1 Bu. Wheat $8.00 60 Lbs Per bushel 13 cents per pound. 1 Bu. Corn $6.00 56 Lbs Per bushel 11 cents per pound 1 Bu. Oats $3.77 32 Lbs Per Bushel 12 Cents Per pound. 1 Bu. Soybeans $13.00 60 Lbs per Bushel 22 Cents Per Pound. 1 Live hog. $140 50 Cents per pound live. 69 Cents per pound meat value. 1 fat Calf big enough to eat. 93 cents per pound live , roughly 1.80 meat value. Compare these prices with the prices of what you are paying at the supermarket. Corn Flakes, Oat Meal, Flour, Meat Ect. Yes I fully understand that there is processing costs, transportation, overhead ect, ect. But it gives you a little more insight on where the bulk of your food dollar is going. I Imagine the box the Corn Flakes are inside has much higher value than the grain that is inside that box. Just a little information for you. Let's Get that Camper rolling. MoTerry

RE: Camping in SW Colorado

www.camplightnercreek.com A little pricey but we really enjoyed it. We camped next to running mountain stream. It is very peaceful. Really nice pool. Approximately 20 min west of Durango. Very nice people and very quiet except for the stream. Sights are a little close but we had plenty of room for a TT with a slide.

RE: filling toilet

I use the shower hose to run extra water in the toilet. Just take off the showerhead and let the water run. Another hint. With the showerhead on, it makes toilet clean-up easier at times too. MoTerry

RE: Border Security

Even if they are your kids and both parents are present take a birth certificate for all of you. Especially kids. It took us over two hours to get through the imagration office walking across the bridge at Niagara falls. Mom, Dad and four daughters. I want to go back to Canada and camp but DW won't even talk about it after our two hour interrogation walking into Canada. If you walk across at Niagara falls make sure you have some change to pay you toll at the Canada end of the bridge. MoTerry

RE: Need Critter Help....

When our camper is not in use we keep poison all over inside and under it. The brand is Ramocide. It dries the little suckers up so dry they don't even stick to the carpet. The only problems we have is when we don't use the poison. I don't know how an animal so small can stink so bad. MoTerry

RE: High fuel prices cause me to downgrade TV

Heck if it is a diesel it will pull anything. Go have Mr. Banks get you a couple more turboes, some air bags and a sack full of power chips with a little salsa and your GVW will grow to at least 50,000 pounds. Just poking a little fun at the I can pull anything with my 3/4 ton Powerstroke/Cummins ect. Crowd. About your car. If you have brakes enough to stop it ,keep your speed down and go only on short trips, I say go enjoy yourself. That car probably doesn't have enough cooling capacity or gear train to tow long distances. But time will tell. MoTerry

RE: Portable Gas Heaters

Blue flame heaters put out a whole lot more fumes than a Catalytic heater. When you get right down to it the blue flame heaters are not much better than letting your cook stove run. And that isn't smart at all. Terry

RE: fun family vacation needed

http://www.adventureland-usa.com/ Our kids love Adventureland. By far the cleanest campground I have ever been to. Just watch your self around 5 or 6 in the evening. You might get runn over in the daily "Running of the Silver Hairs". The senior citizens migrating east on their way to the Prairie meadows casino. Please take note this is just a little humor. But If you are in the campground in the evening you will see what I mean. You can go to adventureland three days for not much more than one day to six flags or Worlds of Fun. MoTerry
